Beat

I'm beat. Stress about meeting with Tiff on Friday and cancelling friend plans. Sneaking behind other friend's back (Teresa). Basket stand for picnic drama. Mastitis today - feel like shit!!! Mother/daughter banquet tonight - someone accidentally took my keys (but they've been found!). Tons of recipes to finish. House looks like a tornado hit it. Two weeks behind on laundry. Shall I keep going? : )

We went and visited Brian & Amy Ochs and their new son, Mitchell last night. While we were there, Josie & Kylie started in with the "I'm hungry and I'm thirsty." So, Amy, being Amy, accomodated to them. She got them two containers of cookies - mini chips ahoy and mini nutter butters. I didn't think Jos would eat them, as she's not a big cookie eater, but when I looked, she was. When we got ready to leave, I looked in the container and saw there were still some cookies, so I put the lids back on. When we got out to the car, this is what Josie says, "You know those cookies? I ate all the peanut butter out of them and made them naked and put them back in the container." Hillarious! I had to call Amy and warn her about the cookies.

The girls have all been pretty good lately. Josie is just turning into such a big girl. Kylie tends to have hearing problems - she rarely listens to us without us having to yell at her or to physically make her do what we're asking. Just a stage . . . Mallory had a ginormous poop on Sunday night. She had went last Friday, and the time before that was the Wednesday of the week before. I don't remember changing a diaper like that! She had it from her neck all the way down to her toes!

New Trick

Mallory began blowing raspberries last Friday (April 23). She's so funny when she does that. On a side note, it's been 5 days since we've seen a poopy diaper from her. Makes for a baby that is often unsettled. Over the past few days in the evenings, she is only content when Mom is holding her and she must be held facing outward, with one hand supporting her bottom and the other around her stomach. Thank goodness she has excellent head control.

Just realized yesterday that we only have one short year left before Josie starts school, which means one year for us to come and go as we please with no school schedule to work around.

The song of choice right now for the two big girls is "Rain is a good thing" by Luke Bryan. How funny is it to hear a 4 year old say her baby is a "little bit frisky?" : )

The girls and I went to my friend Sheryl's house tonight to visit their new baby, Madilyn. They played okay with Allison. There were several tiffs, but for the most part they got along well. Kylie and Allison are so much alike (they are 3 months apart in age). Can't wait to see how these kids interact as they get older.

I'm glad to have had the opportunity to get together with my friends tonight. What a great and wonderful group of women they are. They offer such support and a good time is always guaranteed. We definitely need to spend more time together.

Josie heard a song tonight and in it, they say the word Indiana. Josie informed me that we know "Diana" - she's the girl at the bank. : ) That would be Deanna Kabbes.

The Weekend

#1 event that Happened, but was not witnessed: Mallory rolled over from back to front. She did this Saturday night for the first time and again on Sunday. My theory is that she's forming an escape plan to get away from her big sisters when they try to smother her. : )

Doug & I went to Menards on Saturday night and the girls got to go to Aunt Sara's and play with Kye and Kody. Thanks Aunt Sara! A little note: I told the girls we were going to someone's house who had lots of toys - they guessed it right off the bat. : )

Sunday, Doug got the rest of the outside toys out for the girls to enjoy. Josie & Kylie got to plant some Zinnias and Snapdragons in the garden, since they missed out on planting the vegetables due to napping. All five of us enjoyed a 4-wheeler ride Sunday evening (Doug, Mallory & I on the front, Josie & Kylie in the cart on the back).

A few random things, mostly things said by Kylie. Kylie can buckle herself into her carseat, something Josie can't do yet (I think Josie's carseat is a little harder to buckle on the bottom). Kylie says "I do it my byself," when she wants to do something by herself, such as strapping into her seat. Also, Kylie is pretty big into saying "When we get home can we _______"

I have to give all 3 girls props for their napping this past weekend. On both Saturday and Sunday, all three were asleep at the same time, for at least 1 1/2 hours. I'm just proud of the big girls for not putting up such a fight.

Last thing. I went garage sale-ing this past Saturday. Of all the 6 or so ads I marked to go to, I didn't really have much luck, except for the one that had a Dora castle advertised. I was sure that by 8:30 it would be gone, especially since the sale started at 7:00. But sure enough, it was there and I snatched it up for $10. It was money well spent - the girls love it and it's been a great threatening/bribery tool. : )

I'm sure I forgot something. It was a busy weekend. Doug took Josie to the new parish center Friday night and let her ride around on her scooter while he and Gary worked for a couple of hours to get counter tops fastned down before the open house on Sunday morning. Doug was back there again at 6:30 Saturday morning to cut concrete and finish up getting the building ready. I will be soooooo glad when this project is done . . .

Spilled Milk

Josie is forever yelling "milk spill" when she or Kylie spills their drinks, even if it's just a few drops.

I am so proud of myself for not crying over spilled milk. Or rather, the 4 oz. bottle of breastmilk that was left in the diaper bag overnight. Man, I worked hard for that! Really, I am proud of myself for not having a hissy fit at home over it - I know it was an accident and was not left in the diaper bag on purpose. I am as much to blame as anyone else. Life goes on, you just get one less bottle of Mom's milk, Mallory!

The girls are spending the day with Aunt Marie and Judy, since I have to work until 4:00 today. (It's Good Friday, I'm not happy with being here all day - at least we get to go home an hour early!) I wonder what kind of adventures they'll have today . . .

Gross

The weather has been lovely lately and I am so excited to be able to let the two big girls outside to play after we come home in the evenings. Last year was pretty good, I could leave them by themselves and check on them often. I thought this year would be much easier. I may be wrong.

Josie & Kylie were outside last night after we got home. I opened up the sandbox for them and got out the sidewalk chalks. Of course, once I went back in, Mallory was ready to eat. I checked on the big girls one more time before sitting down with Mal. So, there I set, feeding Mal in the living room and Kylie comes in. Not sure what she wanted, other than to talk. I sent her back out. She comes in again after about 5 - 10 minutes. I couldn't believe what I saw. The girl had sand all over her clothes (not a big deal since they were playing in the sandpile) and all around her mouth. It looked like she'd just eaten the biggest, messiest chocolate bar (made of sand) in the entire world. Oh, and it was in her mouth, too. I asked her if she ate it and she said yes. Well, not much I could do about it at this point other than wipe off her face and use a Kleenex (that was the closest thing I could find) to wipe all the sand out of her mouth.

As for Josie, when I was ready for her to come inside, she was nowhere to be found. Well, she was out front with the chalks, but I hollered for her multiple times to come in and she never responded. I started having flashbacks of Eric and Ryan walking down the lane to the green tractor at the end of the road. Well, as soon as I went to the front of the house I found her and all was fine.

Thank goodness Mallory is too little to leave outside!

Random things the kids say

Kylie: "Mama/Daddy/Grandma, I neeeed you." Said while being very serious (maybe hands on your face) and batting those eyelashes at you.

Josie: "Mom, do you think my boobs will be big and puffed up like yours someday?" What can I say about that? : )

Mallory: "WAAAAAAA" Okay, so she really is a good, pretty laid-back baby. She's been sleeping from 9 - 5 or 10 - 6:30 since about 7 weeks old. Knock on wood!!! And she is our resident thumb-sucker.

Kylie: "There's clouds." "It's gonna rain." Said on a sunny day.

Josie: "When I get big I'm going squirrel/deer/elk hunting with my dad." Recently, she's been saying "Pappy." Oh, and she's been addressing me as "Mother." Of course, Kylie will repeat it.

Silly Girls

Starting yesterday, we have one new child that can't sit still. Miss Mallory has decided that it's time for her to start attempting to roll over. No complete flips yet, but definitely working on it. I can lay her on the floor with her head pointing to the TV, and by the time I go to pick her up, she has moved! Little Girly, isn't it a little too soon to be thinking about rolling over? : )

The drama at bedtime: Says Kylie "Momma, Momma, Mommy!" "Yes Kylie?" "I need out." (Said while standing at the gate blocking their doorway after we put her in bed 15 minutes earlier) "No, get in bed." "Momma," "What?" "I need something to eat." All being said with her little smile and uber-cute cheeks. Another silly girl.

Josie and Kylie got to go out to the woods with Dad this afternoon. When Dad went out to check his trail cam, he took both girls. They were gone for nearly two hours. Dad said Josie walked the whole time. They even got to see a deer! Yippee for Father/Daughter bonding time!!!

Little Mal

Mallory,

Not sure what was going on yesterday evening/last night. You've been sleeping all night now for almost 3 weeks (mom & dad are loving you for that!!!). Usually you are in bed and asleep for the night around 9 - 10:00 p.m. However, last night Mom didn't put you in bed until around 12:45 - what's up with that? Made for a short night. Well, that and Kylie greeting us before 6:00 a.m. and was up for the morning. Thank goodness for Dora!

Anyways Mal, we would love for you to get to bed early tonight. You will be going to Aunt Jenny's, along with Josie & Kylie, while Mom & Dad go out tonight (eating KC fish and then going to the "Willy Wonka" play at OCC).

Love you Little Mal Mal!

Follow-up

So, yesterday morning, I called Prime Mail Pharmacy to check on my prescriptions. They called my house on the 16th to let me know they were processing my prescriptions, which I thought nothing of b/c they were new prescriptions. When I called yesterday, they told me they were not processing them b/c they couldn't verify the doctor's signature (prescriptions are computer-generated at Deaconess). They put them back in the mail to me on the 20th. Hellllooooo! 5 days had passed - why didn't they call and tell me they weren't going to process them? Anyways, I called Dr. K's office and let them know about the situation. It is okay (per Prime Mail) that the scripts be faxed (helllooo again - not an actual signature!) and they will get filled. I will be going to Dr. K for a follow up appointment on Monday to make sure everything is okay after the asthma attack. God bless Dr. Houston's nurse who so generously gave me 24 days' worth of Singulair samples to get me by until my others arrive in the mail. What a mess!!! Hopefully everything is on the right track.

Scary

I had to go to the hospital last night due to an asthma attack. I have no idea what brought it on, other than that I've been out of my Singulair for 2 1/2 weeks. Anyways, I was having breathing problems most of yesterday evening. I took my Albuterol inhaler at 6:30, 7:30, 8:30, 9:30 & 10:00. At 10:00, nothing happened when I took the inhaler. Debated about whether to do a breathing treatment with Albuterol, but couldn't find my nebulizer. Called Janette to see if she could bring hers. By the time she got to our house, I couldn't hardly breathe. We decided to have Doug take me to the e-room. Janette stayed since all 3 girls were already in bed. (What a great mother in law I have - she hand-washed all of our dirty dishes and started folding our laundry!) I took one puff of my inhaler on the way in and it helped a little. Once there, they gave me a breathing treatment with Atrovent (a strong bronchiodialator) and steroids. Then I had to get a steriod shot in the hip - ouch! We got back home around 12:00. I don't have to do anything special, just go about as I have been. I had a terrible, terrible headache when we got home. This morning, I was still a little short of breath at home. I took on puff on the inhaler on my way to work. I am breathing great here at the bank. I can't help but wonder if there is something in our house bothering me. I know Doug would say "that's why we're going to build a new house." I can't wait. Hoping for a good day. I am getting ready to call Dr. Koleliat. Just one more note: I can't recall a time when I have ever had an asthma attack that bad - maybe when I was little, but I certainly don't remember it. And, I am so glad that it was me with the asthma attack and at the e-room rather than one of my kids - I'm hoping I didn't pass that along to any of them.

Conversation and Daycare

Said by Kylie on March 21, 2010: (While I set on the couch pumping)"Mom, your boobs (sounded like Bobes), your boobs, your boobs!" "What about them, Kylie?" "Um, they match!"

Accredidation lady came to daycare today. Josie was the "subject" child. Janette got to discuss Josie with the accredidation lady. They talked about her moodiness, especially first thing in the morning, and how it's addressed at the daycare. On a very positive note, the daycare kids did their cowboy dance for the accredidation lady. It is hilarious! Josie really likes to "ride 'em cowboy" with her lasso while holding on to the horse's reigns. Mallory got a bad mark during the observation due to the fact that she was being so good, that Grandma Janette forgot to move her around to a different location after 40 minutes.

Both big girls are engrossed in the "Sky Dancers" movie right now. Haven't heard a peep out of them since we've been home. Mallory is snoozing.

What's Going On

The kids are growing up so fast. I need to have a place to keep track of things I have seen, heard, thought about, and other happenings. I'm on the computer often, so I figure this is the place. Hopefully, this will help with scrapbooking, baby books, and my memory!
